But the verification mechanisms that would actually prove those claims — reproducible builds, source code audits — are designed for an audience of maybe a few thousand people worldwide. The rest of us trust on faith, dressed up as mathematical certainty. Trust in encryption isn’t a feature you can ship. It’s a debt you can never fully repay.
