Why the New DNS ‘For Sale’ Record Is a Gift to Domain Squatters
A new DNS record (RFC 10023) allows domains to explicitly declare they are for sale. While it seems like a win for transparency, it actually legitimizes domain squatting and transforms the internet’s infrastructure into a speculative marketplace. Worse, it hands a legal smoking gun to trademark lawyers, turning honest owners into targets.
