The Security Code You Wrote Is Being Silently Deleted by Your Compiler
Compilers can legally delete your security checks if they have no observable effect on normal program behavior. Under the ‘as-if’ rule, they assume memory corruption never happens, silently stripping away defenses meant to stop attackers. In C/C++, ‘the compiler did it’ is a real threat model you must actively defend against.
