Your AGENTS.md File Doesn’t Do Anything. Use It Anyway.
AGENTS.md won’t magically improve your AI’s benchmark scores. In fact, on paper, it does absolutely nothing. But in practice, it’s a vital contextual guardrail that saves tokens and sanity by preventing predictable, costly failures. You aren’t boosting performance; you’re writing a leash for an amnesiac.
